FASHION FANCIES.

The pleats on the hips of frocks are often held in position by two straps of the material, set at a sharp slant, and finished with a button at either end. We want so much to go out and enjoy ourselves, but at a reasonable cost, hence the enormous vogue of the transformation frocks, with their satin sheaths that will serve as tube-frocks or underdresses for tunics of filmy fabrics. By the time a rain coat is made of shower-proof crepe de chine, more or less on the lines of a charming walking dress, wet weather will have lost its terrors for those who wary; to look nice, and yet cannot afford taxis. Add a bright scarf and the effect is still better. . Paris is very-“set on dainty little lace caps and bonnets for evening wear, with long, long dangles. They are supposed to keep one's shingle in order, and they may do so—but. the}- also make their wearer look quite fascinating. Their ends are used as scarves, and sometimes there is a tiny lace curtain in front to protect the eyes. A delightful change from velours is camel’s hair cloth as far as big wrapcoats are concerned.
