BISHOP IMPRESSED BY ORGANISATIONS.
EFFICIENCY MAKES HIM CONFIDENT OF FUTURE. According to the latest issue of the “Church News” Bishop West-Watson is greatly impressed by the efficiency of the organisations of the diocese. lie states: Tribute to the efficiency of the organisations and institutions of the Diocese of Christchurch is paid by Bishop West-Watson in the latest issue of the “Church News.” . “I have had a very happy and interesting month getting to know a little of the work of the diocese and of the people who are carrying it on,” he states. “My wife and I are most grateful for the kindly welcome which has awaited us everywhere and deeply impressed with the wonderful efficiency of the organisations and institutions of the diocese. Those who have been before us have built and laboured heroically. We enter' thankfully into their labours and can only do our best not to be too unworthy of our heritage. “M.U., G.F.S., C.E.M.S., Bible Class Union and Sunday School ffiachers, the town of Timaru, parishes, l schools and homes have all given us; most hearty welcomes which fill us with hope for the future especially in the promise of young life and zeal. “I want to commend to you most warmly Miss Park, our new Sunday School organiser, who is a valued friend already to some of you, and brings with her the affection and good wishes of her friends in the North Island. I hope we shall give her every possible opportunity of advising and helping, and will not think any of our schools too small for her notice. Miss Park will be the chief lecturer, assisted by Mr Hitchcock and others, at our Training Week, to be held in the Church House from May 17 to May 20, the opening gathering being on Monday night. I hope every parish will send as strong a band of teachers as possible to represent it and to give Miss Park, a really enthusiastic sendoff on her work. I am hoping to see as much of our Sunday Schools as I can, for I am sure this is a; ‘pivotal’ point in our work.”
