BETTER SUPPLY OF FISH AND MORE VARIETY.

To-day’s quotations in the retail fruit trade reveal that bananas and oranges are selling cheaply. Bananas are .tfen, sixteen and twenty for Is. Sweet Island oranges are four, five, six and eight for Is. Other prices are:—Apples, Delicious 6d a lb, COx’s Orange 4d and 6d a lb, cooking apples 31b for Is, pears 6d a lb, passion fruit eight for Is, quinces 4d a lb, pie melon 51b for Is, grapes 2s 6d and 35,. a lb, strawberries 2s a box. Cabbages 3d and 4d, cauliflowers 4d. marrows Gd to Is; 'punlpkin.s 2d a lb, pickling cabbage 6d, 8d and 9d each, "best celery fid a stick, spinach 3d a bunch, parsnips 3d a bunch, carrots, turnips and beet 2d a bunch, artichokes 4d a lb, peas od a lb. tomatoes 3d and 4d a lb, glasshouse 6d a lb. In some cases stocks are light. The market for eggs is firm, first grade selling at 2s lid wholesale, and second grade at 2s Bd. In other lines little fluctuation in prices has occurred.
