EXHIBITION RUSH NOW NEARLY OVER.

USUAL TIMETABLE TO BE RUN, MAY 6. The rush to the Dunedin Exhibition is over, .and the ordinary railway timetable will be reverted to after next Thursday. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week the 9.10 a.m. train for Dunedin will be run in addition to the twq expresses. The return of the last-minute visitors to the Exhibition will crowd the Christchurch station to-night and to-morrow. Two trains from the south will arrive here abotit 6.30 a.m. to-morrow, and another, which will leave Dunedin at 8.25 a.m., will draw in at about 5 p.m. A special will leave Christchurch for the south at 8.50 a.m.

The Christchurch platform represented a miniature Waterloo Station last night, when trains carrying 600 and 400 people left at 10.25 and 10.45 respectively. Both were of seventeen cartages, steam heated, and chair seats, and were well filled. They were crowded after leaving Temuka. No passengers were picked up at Timaru, as that town had a service of its own. The party of sixty Rangiora High School pupils, which went to Dunedin on Monday, returned last evening. The train which left Rangiora at 9.15 last evening to connect with the excursion train from Christchurch, took twentyfive passengers from Rangiora and thirty-six from Kaiapoi.

EXCURSION FOR HIGHLAND BAND. The Railway Department will run an excursion train from Ashburton next Saturday to enable people from there and intermediate stations to hear the Argyll and Sutherland Band in the King Edward Barracks on that n-ght. The train will leave Ashburton at 1.5 p.m., and will return after the performance. The Moana (West Coast) washout has been repaired, and the ordinary timetable to and from the Coast is being run to-day.
