Mile. Spinelly, who is shortly to appear in a new' revue, first in Manchester and later in London, is generally acclaimed the most fascinating actress in France (says a London writer). She recently had her figure insured for £12.500: so, I am told, there are certain insurance underwriters who spend sleepless nights every time they hear that the actress has been invited to a dinner-party, in case she should suddenly grow careless and put on weight. But the}- have really little to fear. Mile. Spinelly is not only original in her beauty, but in her ideas of how to preserve it. She sleeps, for instance, on a hard floor, instead of in a comfortable bed! |“ I have been greatly influenced by the teachings of the followers of Buddha,” she told me when I was last in Paris. “ and believe in the virtues of the really simple life as an aid to beauty. Every morning, without fail, I hang by my feet for ten minutes from a trapeze in my flat. I also have a special system of breathing, taught me by an Indian mystic.”
