MAN FINDS THAT RACES ARE EXPENSIVE.
The recent rate meeting at Ilororata has proved expensive to Roy J. Lamhoys, who was lined £lO and costs (7?) in the Magistrate's Court to-day fox being at the meeting when he was debarred by law. Senior-Sergeant Martin said Lambess was a convicted pickpocket and a racecourse spieler, lie had a list of convictions and. as tar as the police knew, had done no work. Acting-Detective Mayne said that when he had accosted Lambess on the course, the latter admitted he was prohibited from attending, but thought he would "give it r go."
