Reichstag during the debate on the first hearing of the Bill to confiscate the exruler’s property without compensation. A Socialist Deputy, Rosenfcld. amid > constant interruptions from the Right. pleaded for the Bill on the ground, 1 that the ex-Princes were insatiably] greedy and, responsible for the Gcr- ■ man people's misfortunes. 1 The German National leader, Count Vt estarp, declared that the agitation for the Bill was carried on with lies and terrorism. There was uproar on the Left while ihe Right parties shouted: Keep quiet in the synagogue. Count Westarp declared that the exKaiser fieri to Holland not owing to fear. but. because be believed that Germany would thus get better peace terms and because he believed in Pre- | sident Wilson’s promises. When a Communist Deputy rose to speak for the Bill the National and People’s Party members left the House as a protest.
