Hitchcock, Deputy Director of War Materials during tht wag, in a letter to the Press state! that Bawra profits were derivec principally from Britain, therefor* a proportion of the £500,600 baCanc* should be alloted to Britain. Ht proposed £IOO,OOO to the Wooller Worsted Trades Research Association of Leeds and £SOOO to the Textile Institute at Manchester.
