BLOOMING TREE DRAWS CROWDS IN HONOLULU.

(Special to the “Star.”) HONOLULU. March 26. One of the most beautiful of Honolulu’s flowering trees burst into bloom here recently for the first time in seven years. The tree, which is a species of begonia, and known as Starattosterma Yernicosum is the only one of its kind in the city. It was planted several decades ago by a Honolulu physician. Great interest was caused among Honolulu residents when it was first learned that the tree was in bloom. Crowds flocked from all quarters of the city to see it. The tree, stands sixty feet high and is entirely leafless, the blossoms being of a vivid yellow.
