WIDER TEACHING IN HEALTH IS STRONGLY URGED.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 27. A statement regarding the attitude of the British Medical As lotion on the question of public eC : ution in matters of health was made by Dr Milsom, president of the Auckland division of the association. He said: “ Now that the standard of general education is so much higher, there can be no doubt that wider teaching in matters of health would be of considerable economic value. “ We are of opinion that further instruction could be undertaken by the Department of Health. The Department is a very excellent one and is fully alive to the situation. Its dissemination of knowledge of tuberculosis and of cancer and its ante-natal care, campaign, to mention but a few of its activities, are deserving of the highest praise. “ While we think that this is a proper channel through which authoritative statements should come to the public, our association in Auckland is considering a scheme whereby a recognised society or group of people may, by asking our association, be supplied with a lecturer who has a recognised professional knowledge of the subject >f the address to be given.”
