MELBOURNE CELEBRATES EIGHT-HOUR DAY.

The Eight-Hour Day under the new name of Labour Day was celebrated by a big procession through the city streets, followed by a sports feature. There was a fine trade display of Aus J traliar-made goods. Under the banner of the Ex-Police-men's Union marched some two hum dred ex-constables, who were discharged from the ranks as the result of the strike a couple of years ago. The crowds gave them a great reception.
