A WHIM OF THE MOMENT.

“What next?” we say. Dame Fashion should surely take to herself as a crest the emblem of eternity, of perpetuity, the serpent with its tail in its mouth; for, like everything else, she merely has her cycle, and everything recurs at some time or another. To-day we are told to wear bibs again—not little frilly goffered ones, but long, flowing chiffon creations, rather like our old friend the jabot, as you will see by the accompanying illustration. These chiffon bibs arc initialled in gold or coloured silk, and very charming they look. Again, one may assume that the initial is only a modernised version of the quaint little “mother’s pet” traced on the old-time baby’s bib. Whether the object of these initials is "just decorative, or to induce the stranger to start guessing if “J” means .Till or Joan, the idea is extremely effective.. and obviates the necessity for further decoration. On the blouse worn with the tailormade, on the jumper, or even on the plain summer frock, the chiffon bib will give just the necessary “touch” which we all strive to achieve. Those of us who are handy with a needle can have an infinite variety of such bibs, while the less fortunate will have to confine themselves to a purchase of one or two.
