GIRL APPEARS ON THEFT CHARGE.
NOT ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN CITY.
“From the Probation Officer’s report it appears that this girl is somewhat on the wa3 r ward path,” said Mr 11. Y. Widdowson, S.M., when a girl aged nineteen, heavily clad in sable furs, appeared for sentence on charges of stealing £1 10s in money and a letter from her employers. The Magistrate said that although the girl’s employers were willing to reinstate her. he did not think it advisable to allow her to stay in the city. She was placed on probation for two years, a special condition being that she should return to her home town. The publication of ,her name was suppressed.
