The Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University, in a letter to “The Times,” confirms the recent report that members of the University have been endeavouring to induce Indian students to join the Communist Party. Those implicated were compelled to sign an undertaking promising that in future they would not directly or indirectly communicate with the Communist organisation or endeavour to propagate Communist ideas. The alternative was expulsion from the University.
