CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr A. H. Holmes. TP., and Mr G. E. Franklin, J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Francis M'Glusky, a-third offender, was sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment. Charles Neilson. for being drunk while in charge of a horse and cart, was fined £5, in default fourteen da} r s’ imprisonment. A first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged. BY-LAW CASES. The following by-law cases -were dealt with: On charges of having driven motorvehicles without licenses to do so the following penalties were inflicted: IT. Adams 20s, C. Dorhman 20s, 11. Fitz- , gerald 20s. E. M. Gould 20s, R. ITook 20s, W. Haines 20s, C, T. Wright 20s, J. E. Southern 20s, W. C. Pollard 20s, Thomas Mooney 10s. For cycling at night without lights, T. IT. Adams, ll> J. Anderson, J. hidden, A. E. Langford, IT. Fetheram, C. Ferry. S. Purvis, G. C. Toon, Robert Tow-art, 11. Williamson, were each fined lOs. N. Falloon was ordered to pay costs. Cycling on the footpath cost the following 10s each: L. Garson, A, Chadwick, E. Cook, J. Harris, L. Moore, L. E. Smith, C. Snook, V. D. Smith, B. Watts. For allowing a horse to wander A. Rhodes was fined ss. For motoring at night without lights F. C. Mann was fined I.os, J. F. M'Kce 10s. P. Kirby 10s, For leaving a motor-car unattended H. G. Livingstone was fined 10s. The case in which J. A. Daniels was charged with negligent driving was dismissed. For having driven £>ast a stationary tram G. Smith was fined 40s. For failing to give her name and address when concerned in an accident Agnes E. was fined 10s and a charge of negligent driving was dismissed. For not having a number on his mo-tor-car Israel Hyman Balkind was ordered to pay costs. For having no number on his motorcar Patrick John Limblin was lined 20s. For having no license to drive J. E. Ensor was fined 20s. For driving a lorry without a license Clifford Lee was ordered to pay costs. A charge of dangerous driving was dismissed, A. F. W. Jones was fined 20s for erecting a building in the Waimmiri county without having firet obtained

the permission of the County Council. Oliver Sutton was fined 20s for cohstruct/ng a 6eptic tank without permission.
