’QUAKE RECORDED IN CH’CH LAST NIGHT.
Four earthquakes have been recorded in Christchurch in the past week or so, two of them being world-wide shocks, with their origin outside New Zealand. Last night a shock was felt and recorded on the seismograph at the Christchurch Observatory git about
10.30. its origin no doubt being in the North Island. The first ’quake was recorded on the night of November 10, being a worldwide one. Last Friday night another big shock was felt, probably world-wide also. On Monday morning a slight shock was recorded. Its origin was probably not in New Zealand, but was not far from these shores. The shock recorded last night was not of great intensity, it is thought.
