BRITISH PILOTS AND EMPIRE.

AIR FLIGHTS WILL ANNIHILATE DISTANCE. Br Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. ami N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 19, 11 a.m.) LONDON, November IS. Sir Samuel Jlonrc wirelessly broadcasted a speech on the importance of aviation to the Empire. There was, be said, no more urgent Empire question than the improvement of communications to enable personal visits to fields of politics and trade, to clear up difficulties insurmountable by cable. The distance between the chief points of the Empire was the greatest menace to Empire unity. He was convinced that a British pilot would prove tho pioneer of Empire unity. He did not suggest that there should be a chain of Empire air routes within the twinkling of an eye. but the day was drawing nearer when great distances would be annihilated.
