MURDER CHARGE LAID AGAINST YOUTH.

At the inquest on Claire Prowse John Smith was committed for trial on a charge of murder. . Following the death at Junee on November 2 of Claire Prowse, aged seventeen, a telephonist, Jack Smith, aged eighteen, a telegraph operator, was arrested. | It is stated that Smith bad been paying addresses to the girl and was repulsed. It, is believed that she was attacked with a. razor. She rushed into the bouse where she was boarding covered with blood, and died shortly after. The police visited a room at, the Junee Hotel and arrested Jack Smith, who had two gashes, one being in the temple. He was bleeding pro--1 fusely and on the point of collapse and | was sent to hospital. A razor was found in his room.
