YORKSHIRE METHODS TO CHECK RACE GANGS.
LONDON. September 8. A force, of 1000 police, including a strong mounted detachment, has been assembled at Doncaster to deal with race gangs during the St Leger meeting. Police will ride on all tramcars and trains. The chief constable of Doncaster, replying to the magistrate at the swear-ing-in of 50 detectives who have been assembled for special duty, said: “We will deal with offenders in Yorkshire fashion, and we- won’t use kid gloves."
