CHATHAM CUP FINAL. NOMADS v. SE ACL IFF. Conditions were ideal for football when Nomads mot SeaclifT. the champion dub team of Otago, in the South Island final of the New Zealand Chatham Cun competition, at English Park to-day. The ground was fn good condition. and there was very little wind. The teams were:— NOMADS. Jackson, Flood, Graham (rapt.) Scrggge, John M' Douga 11. Mu&croft. Purvis, Croakston, .1. M'Dougn 11, C. M* Do uga 11, Chapman. SEACLIFF. Gwillan, lingers, Anderson, Murray, Cooper. l.Saillie, ITanlin, Hooper, Seacliff won the tops, and Noma da kicked off. Colin M 'Donga! I got possession and passed out, to Chapman, who was beaten by Macdoaga.il. The ball went, to Hooper, but Jackson ran out and cleared. Soa-c-.Hft went down, and MacdougalL put in a. lovely shot, which just, skimmed the bar. Hooper went down, and overran the ball, Graham clearing. Maedouga 11 l>ea.t Mus-c-roffc. but Colin M'Bougall heat him and cleared up the field. Graham cleared. Chapman got the ball, arid centred neatly. .1. M‘Douga! I had a. fine try. but the ball a try from a distance. Nomads bad Seacliff hesitating properly at this stage. Chapman and M'Douga 11 doirm groat work. From a penalty, John M’Dougall nearly Nomads 0. Seacliff 0. On the resumption. Seacliff curried plav in the Nomads’ territory. Cooper passed to Kail lie. Maedougall went away and centred, and Hooper beat Jackson close up. Seacliff 1, Nomads 0. Chapman took the bail up the wing, and shot, but Gwillan gathered. Nomads went tsp, and Crookston shot, but the hall went over the bar. Nomads r. orked near, but Purves missed. Bail lie i put in a hot shot that Jackson gathered. making a good save. Chapman again carried play up with him, and would equalise, but the H'- 'b Baillie went down, centred to Hooper, and the centre scored ! n the r Seacliff 2, Nomads 0. Nomads attacked stronglv. Crookston. Purves and C. IM’Dongall doing good work. and Scrairge drove in one that hit the crossbar. Maedougall took play down again, and passed to Bailey, who charged Jackson, but the goalie cleared. Nomads were showing form again, but the j final whistle went with the score:— SEACLIFF . . .
