The “ Daily Telegraph. 5 * conceding Hannan’s gameness. declares that he is not in the same class as Gootlsell. Bill Beach, the veteran sculler, who was umpire, describes (loodsell as a remarkably clever sculler, capable of doing much hotter and with a wonderful future before him. His victory was most decisive, but Hannan showed game ness in a heart-breaking sternchase nearly all Ilia way. Referring to Hanna ii. .Beach said that lie was shooting his slide badly, causing the boat to bury at the bow!
