Tt lias been learned that Germany sent a questionnaire to Paris respecting obscurities in the French 6s'oto and received an answer. The German Government is now awaiting Air Chamberlain’s statement and tho debate in the House of Commons to-day, which are expected to considerably affect its reply. Meanwhile tho Premiers of the German States have been invited to visit Berlin to attend a. special council with the. Cabinet on Saturday, at which the German reply probably will be outlined. The Parliamentary Labour Party passed a. resolution condemning the proposed security part as not calculated to secure Franco-German conciliation, or stabilise European peace. Further, if, was inconsistent with the spirit and ideals of the League of Nations Covenant. The party urged the extension of the League to include Germany and Russia., and the establishment of an all-inclusive pact of security, based on tho principles of the Geneva Protocol.
