FRENCHMAN GETS A KNOCK By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. A.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 21, 2 p.m.) LONDON, June 23. The most sensational incident at Wimbledon to-day was when it was Borolra’s turn to have a narrow escape. O. G. Turnbull countered Borotra’s whirlwind smashing by terrific driving. One hit felled the Frenchman as lie came into the net. liorotra rose and tried to walk to the baseline, but was obviously in pain, lie moved towards the umpire’s chair and lay full length It looked as if lie would be forced to retire, but a few minutes later he pluckily resumed. After a thrilling and prolonged struggle, he beat Turnbull, 10-8, 5-7, 7-5, 10-8. O. G. Turnbull is an cx-British Davis Cup player. Recently lie defeated Fotheringharn, of New Zealand, in a tournament, 7-5, 5-7, 6-1. NOTES ON THE PLAY. Jean Bo rot 133. must bo in lop form to defeat Heath in three straight sets.
