FATE IN BALANCE.
FRENCH GOVERNMENT MAY GO. MOROCCO WILL DECIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. &. N.Z. Cable Association. (Received, Juno 24, 12.30 p.m.) BAH IS, June ‘2l. A referendum of the Socialist Pa r,] iam e n t a r y Party on their attitude towards the Government resulted in a motion in favour of complete liberty of action, involving tho withdrawal of their support from the Government, obtaining sixty votes, while motions in favour of supporting the Government if it acceded to the Socialist wishes and of continuing their support! obtained forty-seven and twelve votes respectively. It is expected that the Government’s fate will be decided, in the Chamber this afternoon, when M. Pain love makes his statement regarding Morocco. Following on M. Painlcve’s visit to Morocco, where both French and Spanish troops are "being hard pressed by the rebel armies of Abd-el-Krim, it was announced that the French military command would probably be changed and that 'France and Spain would most likely co-operate in crushing the Riffs. This decision has caused considerable ill-feeling in the French Chamber, the extreme sections regarding M. Painleve as a traitor.
