BUTCHERS AND GROCERS FINED, EASTER SATURDAY LAW. Grocers and butchers within a radius of ten miles from the Square, who had their shops open on Easter Saturday morning found themselves prosecuted ar. tho Magistrate’s Court to-day for a. breach of Section 69 of the Shops and Offices Act, The prosecutions were brought by’ Mr A. E. Waite, Inspector of Factories. .Mr Waite said that tho award permitted butchers to remain open till / a.m., but the grocers’ shops had. to bo closed, although permission, was granted io sell bread from Ihe back door.
