Bollard: - With i reference to the visit of the American j fleet. 1 have nrucb pleasure in inform- N j ins yon that in view of the Lytteltqn 1 Harbour Board’s assurance that the j destroyers with, tender can he accom- ! modated satisfactorily at Lyttelton wharves, the Commander in Chief has cabled that the Navv Department has authorised twelve destroyers with the tender Altaic to proceed to Lyttelton arriving on August LI and leaving August 21 In addition the Mayor received the following telegram from Air J. X. Hislop. Government, representative: ‘ The crews of tlio twelve destroyers to visit Lyttelton will consist- of approximately 129 officers and 191 c, men. and that of the tender Ml air 33 officers and 336 men.
