Tho raiders of the Chinese Legation yesterday wore .apparently nearly all workmen, seemingly hailing from all 1 provinces 1 of China. The Legation believes that the motive of the raiders was tho patriotic ground that the Chinese diplomats were not halving act ire enough steps to submit the . Chinese demands for emancipation [ from foreign control to t lie governraents to which they are accredited j Members of the Legation deprecate the methods adopted as harmful to the Chinese cause <and emphasise the point that the raiders in no way represent tho whole Chines© colony in Paris, but rather an extremist group affiliated to | tiio extremists in China.. I Tho Legation suspects that. nonChinese elements were behind the coup, which had evidently been most carej fully planned. They hint that the hand of Moscow is possibly working against France. The police are inquiring into tho matter and interesting revelations arc possible.
