♦ TROUSERS FOR THE TENNIS : GIRL. WITHOUT SILK STOCKINGS. LONDON, May 10. Magpie colour (or lack of colour) schemes and trouser-frocks, which are simply very baggy trousers reaching to the knee, are this year’s fashions for the lawn tennis girl. On the grass courts in the London parks, where public tennis is now in j full swing, nearly all the women play- 1 ers are wearing white with touches of ■ black. Frocks of white erepe, with large I monograms embroidered in black, arc popular. The monogram consists of the wearer’s initials of those of some club to which she belongs, and the new position for it is on the skirt, on the right hip or just aboY'e the knee. A polo-collared “ sweater blouse” of white crepe de chine, with a border of tennis racquets worked in black, Yvas worn over a plain Yvhite Kasha skirt. ; Big, loose coats, three-quarter j length, in soft white cloth or woY*en j materials, Yvith collar and cuffs of chipped wool, cither in white or black j and white, are in great demand. White tennis shoes, strapped and trimmed Yvith black leather, Yvbich have been \-ery popular on the Riviera this season, have also j made their appearance in the shops. I
