In connection with the contract recently entered into between Lilian Gish and the Metro-Goldwyn Company'. “ there is a rather interesting bit of information that has come from most authorative sources," says the “ New York Tribune.” “ That is, that Miss Gish not only was willing but was most wishful to wager on her own appeal to motion picture-goers, and instead of demanding and receiving a tremendous weekly salary she accepted a most comfortable annual income with the understanding that she would re ceive a more comfortable share of any profits that might be derived frem her efforts as a star.” Another paper states that Miss Gish will be paid a salary' of 5000 dollars a week, and 25 per cent of the profits of each of her pictures.
