Air J. l\ Lang (Premier) states that there is no surplus in the State iille said that his inquiries made it clear that if the Treasury had prepared its accounts in the way honourable business men would, no surplus couid be shown. Various statements had been made that the Fuller Government was leaving behind a surplus of £500,000. “Any business can show a surplus.” be said, “if it omits from its accounts sufficient liabilities.”
