-lILK COMPANY CHARGES. lVr Press Association. r AUCKLAND, June ID. Mr Poynton, S.M.. dismissed a f'hargc in the Magistrate’s Court today against the Auckland Milk Company that it sold milk that failed to stand ivhat is known as the reductive test. A sample was taken from one of the company s milkmen. For the defence it was contended that the test known ns the Methylene Blue test was not reliable, that the regulation is uncertain and unreasonable and that proper precautions were not taken between the. buying of ihesamplo and thrv application of the test. I he Magistrate said that the regula--1,011 undoubtedly meant milk “when purchased.” Though the milk in question would not stand the test at 10 a m , it might have done so at 6.55 a.m. when purchased. He found that the te*t is satisfactory and reliable, and that tlie regulation is not unreasonable. 1 here was a doubt whether or not the milk would have passed the test when purchased, and defendant was entitled to the benefit of the doubt. The charge u ould be dismissed.
