AAIUSING FKNDALTON STORY. All men, they say, are liars. An amusing story from Fendalton wav damps one man. a married one, as a liar. This gentleman’s wife is in the habit of carrying the family purse and, moreover, keeping tight grip on it, 100. He wanted badly to go to the races, but knew it was hopeless to secure the consent of his better half. Then suddenly came one of those hashes cf inspiration, which they say are the experience only of genius. He had read that Joe Bierman, the tailor, made ten-guinea suits for live guineas, that he gave a guarantee that his fiveguinea suits were just the same, except in price, as the ten-guinea suits of other tailors. Now- our Fendniton friend was requiring his annual suit, which he usually paid ten guineas for. He went, therefore, to Joe Bierman s at No. &, Cathedral Square, between Bank of N.Z. and Dalgety's, and had made to Lis measure for five guineas a suit which simply delighted his' wife when she saw it. For material, fit, style, workmanship and finish it was unsurpassed.
