He died this afternoon from heart failure induced by a general b re a k d ow n and aattack of bronchial asthma Robert Marion La Follette wa> born at Primrose, Wisconsin, on •Tune 14, 1885. He had a varied and interesting political career and was Governor of Wisconsin from 1901 to 1907. He was first elected a United States Senator on January 25, 1905. He was prominent as the leader of a movement to nominate all candidates by direct vote. At the last presidential election he contested the presidency as the Republican candidate and secured a large number ot votes, coming third on the list FROM FARM TO CAPITOL.
