The Tararua Tramping Club is a strong organisation. In addition to arranging tramps, it does much in the way of providing huts and forming tracks in the Tararuas- Members arcencouraged to organise their own trips in addition to official ones. A; a icsult, last Christmas parties made expeditions to Te Mahia, the L T re\vera Country, Mount Holdsvorth, Tongariro National 1 ark and other districts. In addition, three members came south and climbed Mount Tapuaenuku, in the Kaikoura Range. This is a high mountain lover 9000 ft), and its ascent entailed some hard going.
