THE RUGBY GAME. TO-MORROWS MATCHES. Given the glorious weather of the past few days, Saturday should be :t record-breaking day at Lancaster l-’ari:. The game on the oval between Merivale and Christchurch should be one of the most, even and attractive yet pri - son ted to patrons this season. Merivale are at present, with Lin wood. ::t the head of the senior competition, and although Christchurch are a little behind, the leaders, they are a very solid team, with clever backs, including such men as the All Blacks M’Gregnr and Robilliard, ably supported i.»y Brown, Talbot, Young-, Mullan, and Finnegan, it recruit from Southland. Merivale will field their usual team during recent weeks, which has become famous for its fast back work. To oppose the Christchurch backs, they have some fine backs in Ford, Oliver, Doreen, M’Cabbe. and Hooper, all of whom are capable "if throwing the bail about in a bright, breezy manner.
