VICE-REGAL. Hi* Excellency tho Governor-Gen-eral, Sir Charles Fergusson, accompanied by Lady Fergusson, Miss OrrKwing, and staff left Christchurch for 1 Wellington last night. MINISTERIAL. Sir James Parr, Minister of Education left Dunedin for Timaru this morning by the first express and will continue his journey to Christchurch by the second express. Mr A. Steele (Auckland) is staling at the United Service Hotel. Afr R. ('. Bishop, who has been ill for the past few weeks, was reported yesterday to be slightly better. Air S. P. Martin, of Dunedin, is at present in Christchurch, and is at the Clarendon Hotel. Messrs F. B. Bolt (Wellington). 11. H. Phillips (Toronto) and W. E. Reynolds (Dunedin) are recent arrivals staying at Warner's Hotel. A resolution expressing sympathy with the relatives of the late Air P. E. Schmidt was passed at this morning's meeting of the Canterbury Education Board. For many years Air Schmidt was the board’s architect.
