ALLIANCE OF LABOUR.
The chairman of the Canterbury Labour Representation Committee, Mr R. Macfarlane, has been appointed organiser for North Canterbury of the Alliance of Labour, in connection with the unity scheme which was adopted at the last open conference of the Alliance, the object of which is to affiliate all. the industrial unions, trades and labour councils, and the unions at present affiliated to no organisation into one branch of the Alliance of Labour.
