UTILITY POULTRY CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. Two Dominion records for egg-laying were established during the year, one with Mr C. Bennett’s White Wyandotte with 278 eggs, and the other with Mr R. Pearce’s Ancona with 221 eggs for fiftyone weeks, it was stated in the annual report of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club last evening. “ The club has every satisfaction in knowing that we have passed through a very satisfactory year, as the balancesheet shows,” stated the report. ” The working expenses have been kept as low aa possible.” During the year they had been able to pay the sum of £3OO olf the loan account, leaving £2OO still owing, and with a. fair season they should be able -to pay this off during the next twelve months. The club would be at a loss of about £SO owing to the concessions in entry fees, combined with the fact that there had been less entries. They would need to seriously consider the entryfees for the next competition, so as to encourage competitors from a distance. The club wished to thank all donors of special prizes, and was grateful to the Government for its grant- of £IOO. The educational meetings had been of great help to all members, and the thanks of the club were duo to those who willingly gave their services in delivering addresses. The hope was expressed that this year the educational rnetings would be better attended. During the year the club had lost some good men, who had supported it in different ways, namely, Messrs John Jarvis, Nancarrow, sen., and H. L. Downey. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report arid balance-sheet, said that they had had a good year, and the .state of the finances was very satisfactory.
