EVENTS AT TRENTHAM. SCORING GETS “ HOT.” Per Press Association. TRENTHAM. May 4. At Trentham this morning the weather was fine, though leaden clouds overhung the camp. A start was made promptly at S o’clock, with the 300 yards range of the Auckland match. Hunt and Goldfinch lead with 234, followed by "W. H. Ballinger 233, Done 232, and Guiuey *231. The YVairoa team won the Islington Cup for Hie best five men aggregate in the tileshooting match of the service series, with a score of SO out of a possible 125. GreyThe ritle club champion teams match, for five men a side, counting all scores in the Bell series, attracted twenty-four entries. Petone are leading with 6GI points, two ahead of Opaki and Wellington Suburbs, while Linton and Greytown have each 650 °R. E. Harrison (Hawera) and J. E. Harris (Linkwater) topped the list, in the Auckland Match with 96 each. Harrison takes first, place with a better card at the long range.
