WEDDING.

BA LL—WHITCOAIBE. The wedding was celebrated in St. Peter’s Church. Terrace End. Palmerston North, on Wednesday evening, of Miss Lena Alarv Whitcombe. second daughter of Air' W. E. Whitcombe. Christchurch, and Air James Henry Ball, of Waverley. The church had been prettily decorated with autumn Mi.fre and chrysanthemums and the Rev. J. O. Abbott officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a tunic frock of ciel brocaded crepe de chine cut on straight lines and caught at one side with a flower of gold' tissue. Her black panne hat was finished with a black osprey mount at one side. Aiiss Nellie Whitcombe (Gisborne) attended her sister, and wore a frock of primrose crepe de chine with ostrich feather trimming of the same shade. Also in attendance were two little children Josephine Whitehorn. in a frock of white georgette with blue sa-sh. and Berners Whitehorn in a suit of black velvet. Air G. Whitehorn was best man. and Air Porteous played the wedding music. After the ceremony Air and Mrs Whitcombe entertained the guests at the Community Rest Room, which had been decorated with beautiful flowers, flic bridal table having been arranged with violets. Airs Ball travelled in a coat frock of cinnamon brown. with hat to match and ermine stole.
