In the early morning, considerable rain fell, and the outlook was not promising, but shortly before the first race the weather cleared and the sun shone out. (Special to the “ Star.”) WANGANUI. May 2. j Comical and Alaric were companions ! in a schooling essay over tlie hurdles this morning, both jumping splendidly. The pace was on from the start, and they were together all the way. Comical shaped better than in any previous effort here. Hindi was also given a turn over the hurdles, jumping very carefully.
