The engagement is announced of Violet Maude, third daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Alfred Lilly, formerly of Dunedin, and younger sister of r Mr Arthur Lilly, and Charles Holland Poole, of Wellington. A surprise party, organised by Mr and Mrs Bale, visited the residence of Mr and Mrs Kingsley, Durham Street, leeently, the occasion being their silver wedding.
