ST MARY’S PARISH FETE.

The great preparations that were being made for the Parish Fete, at St Mary’s Vicarage grounds this afternoon had to be abandoned owing to the inclemency of the weather, but the stall-holders and many energetic workergs arranged their stalls in the schoolroom and carried on a most successful sale. The organisers liad met with a most cordial and generous response to their appeal for contributions of articles, and were kept busy with their numerous buyers. Canon W. S. Bean, in opening the fete, thunked the people for their splendid support and wished the sale every success.
