The Church Anniversary will be held fo-morow at II a.m. and 6.30 p.m.; choral service at 2.45 p.m. The annual concert and social will take place next Thursday evening, -when an excellent programme will be given bv the Edgeware Road Methodist Choir. ADDINGTON RUGBY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB. The club is to hold a monster euchre tournament next Wednesday n the Oddfellows’ Hall, Selwyn Street. Prizes consist of two 50s open, orders, sugar, flour, tea, etc. Further particulars are advertised elsewhere. PERSEVERANCE LODGE. * The Perseverance Lodge of Druids met last Monday, A.D. Bro F. Smith presiding. The D.P., Bro M'Cree, of the Anchor, was in attendance. As a mark of respect to those brothers who had made the supreme sacrific; in the late Avar, the A.D. asked the members to stand in silence. Sick pay to the amount of of £7 was passed for payment. Bro. F. Smith reported on the surprise visit paid to the Oak of Sydenham, when it, was very gratifying to see the business being carried on by such a band of enthusiastic young officers. The lodge decided to pay .1 visit to the Anchor at an early date. EUCHRE AND DANCE. The third of the series of euchre and dances promoted by the Addington Burgesses took place on Tuesday last, there being a large number of euchre players and dancers present. Amongst those present were —Mesdames Vizer, Clark, Cook, Burford, Hooker, Whitford, Milne, Chapman, Young, Brown, Cunningham, Philpott, Shuttle-worth (Grey-mouth), Bellamy, Andrews, Hart.gan, Falkiner and Shanks, Misses Sparks, Rettridgc, Gyde, Burford (31, Bryden (2), Shanks, Hamer, Milne, M'Kenzic, Falkinder, Farmer, Beattie and Cook, Messrs Grammar, Blake wav, Memmett, Beattie, Chapman, Bellamy, Gyde (2); Browning, Oliff. G. Burford, G. Burford, jun., Bettridge, Milne, Young, Hamer, Steere, Morris, Smith, Sparks. Downing and many others. The prize-winners wore: - Ladies. Mrs Andrews L Mrs Philpott 2, Miss I Burford 3. Miss A. Burford 4: gents, Fir P. Gordon 1. Air B. Morris 2, Mr Blake way. 3. and Mr Memmett 4. ANZAC SERVICE. UNION METHODIST CHUR fH, ADDINGTON A special Atizac commemoration service was held in the Union Methodist Church, Addington, on Sunday evening, when there was a very large congregation. The Rev R. B. Tinsley, who conducted the service, in a fitting address and stressing his remarks on the words. “To this end was T born,” paid tribute 10 the noble sacrifice of the fallen.
