Glass Wigs and Jungle Gowns are Latest Paris Fashions.

THK wild, wild tiger, the nervous zebra, and the ferocious leopard now set the patterns for the costumes of my lovely lady. Th© lightning as it streaks across tiio midnight sky and tli© deliriums of th© cubists furnish further inspiration for her clothes. Furthermore, the glass-blower has become her hairdresser. As a result th© woman who keeps step with Paris styles now presents of an evening the appearance of a slinky jungle creature, silky and suave as to body, with head blazing like a lighted chandelier. As for her little feet they are dressed in snake-skin slippers which are fashioned to resemble the heads of cobras or even of kraits, most deadly of creatures that roam the Bengal wilderness. Not that anything so substantial as th© actual skins 'of tigers or leopards are used to mako evening frocks, wraps and scarfs. No indeed. The filmiest of silk crepe is employed instead, and hand-painted with stripes or spots to teem. more lifelike than life itself.

Tho garments tkcii, as Paris turns them out and as New York’s own Hue d© las Paix is copying them, are draped about th© feminine figure with a look of insecurity as fasenating as the fabrics themselves. The “Cubist Sunset” is done in the same manner and looks exactly as the name sounds, with splashes of purple, orange, Erin green and bishop's purple twisted into squares and rectangles and the whole fashioned into a frock with a square throat, square bodice and square skirt. “.Lightning” is most popular in a scarf and is a modernist conception of a storm—zigzag dashes of electric blue and flame on a purple background, shot with black and white. And while some of the shoes are made of zebra or leopard skins to match jungle frocks, many are of the skins of snakes, with buckles formed of gleaming fangs and baleful red glass eyes. The glass wigs, perhaps, arc the most astonishing of the new styles.
