MINERS DOWN TOOLS.
DISPUTE OVER TRUCKERS. PK R PRtSS , ASSOCIATIOX. WHANGAREI, April 30. In consequence of three truckers being put on to hew coal at Wilson’s Aline, Hikurangi, this afternoon, the shift refused to turn-to unless the three men were replaced by hewers out of employment. The demand was refused, and 150 miners downed tools. A meeting of the Miners’ Union last night decided against working at Wilson's colliery tin til a solution is obtained after a conference with the directors. It is anticipated that an adjustment will be reached soon.
