Then it burst into flames. When the onlookers, numbering hundreds, reached the scene Lynn was dead. The woman was alive, out before she could be extricated she was burned to death. Both bodies were charred beyond recognition. Prior to leaving the aerodrome Lynn who had been in indifferent health for some time, expressed the wish that a friend who had frequently driven the ’plane would give it a flight, as he did not feel fit for the job.
