STOCK PRICES.

SUMMARY OF YESTERDAY’S SALE. Fat lambs and store sheep were in demand at Addington yesterday. Fat sheep made slightly better prices than last week, but lat cattle were easier. The entry oi : lat sheep was an unusually small one', only seven lull races being forward, one less than last week. The quality was only moderate, the proportion of ewes being larger than usual. At the outset tne demand was keen, but later on it slackened, and, on the average, prices were oniy slightly better than a week ago. lop price, o'J s tki, was secured by aiessrs J. and i'. Clinton (Dartield) for live wethers and the best pen ol a draft of 69 from Mr AY. Stott (Dariield) made 525. Best ewe price, 45s Del, was secured by air (I. G. Holmes (Knocklynn) for twelve. The entry of iat lambs totalled 315 U head, compared with 3700 last week. Generally the quality was .indifferent, the proportion of well finished lambs being small. The demand was good throughout and prices were sightly better than those of a week ago. ■West lambs made up to a lb. Three lambs, sold on behalf of Miss Gillon (.Greenpark) made -50 s, but the best line was from Mr W. Craw (Charlton) 208 making from 39s 4d to 46s Id. top price for a pen of ten. There was a large entry of store sheep. Competition was keen lot* breeding ewes with sound mouths and for forward lambs and wethers. Lambs of medium quality and downwards were somewhat cheaper than last week. The entry of fat cattle was a large one. It numbered 610 head, compared with 540 last week. The supply was much in excess of the weekly requirements of. butchers with the result that another easing in prices was recorded. Big cattle were from 30s to 35s a head cheaper than last week and medium and lighter sorts were up to 30s cheaper. A good many passings were made. Prices a 1001 b were: Best beef to 425. prime 37s 6d to 40s. medium 35s to 375. light 32s to 34s 6d and rough down to 22. s 6d. 1 here was a large entry of store cattle, but it consisted mainly of odd lots of cows.
