LONDON, February I The Paris correspondent of the “ Daily- Express ” states that the Socialist leader, M. Leon Blum, made a sensational speech in the Chamber of Deputies. M. Bium said his part\’ opposed the continuance of the militarv’ occupation of the Rhine as much as the>’ did the occupation of the Ruhr. The Chamber was in a state of tiproar when M. Ilerriot interposed that he did not intend to change one word of the statement that the policy of remaining on the Rhine was France’s best guarantee of securit\\ M. Blum’s speech is considered as revealing that a serious split is developing and as sounding the death knell of the Herriot Government.
