Head of the British batting averages for 1924, Andrew Sandham is a Streatham man, thirty-four years old. Al last night’s meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Progress .League, it was intimated that the renovations being effected to the old City Council Chamber bp tidings would be completed in time for the next meeting of the League. The following organisations had made their headquarters there;—The Department of Industries and Commerce, the Waimakariri River Trust, the Selwyn Plantation Board, the Acclimatisation Society, the Citizens’ Association, the Employers’ Association, the Chamber of Commerce, and Canterbury Progress League.
